Islamabad, In a significant move to alleviate economic pressure on its residents, the government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) has announced substantial subsidies on flour and electricity rates. This decision follows the federal government’s approval to allocate twenty-three billion rupees to address these issues.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, AJK Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwaar ul Haq, during a press conference in Islamabad today, announced the immediate issuance of notifications reducing the price of flour from 3100 rupees to 2000 rupees per 40 kilograms. Electricity tariffs have also been adjusted, with new rates set at 3 rupees per unit for consumption between 1-100 units, 5 rupees per unit for 100-300 units, and 6 rupees per unit for consumption over 300 units. Commercial rates are now 10 rupees per unit up to 300 units and 15 rupees per unit beyond that.
