Finance Ministry Hosts Consultative Meeting to Enhance Trade and Export Facilitation


Islamabad: The Minister of State for Finance and Revenue chaired a consultative meeting with representatives from the business and export sectors at the Ministry of Finance. The gathering aimed to discuss improvements to the tax regime, export facilitation, and the overall business environment.



According to Press Information Department, the meeting reviewed policy and administrative measures to facilitate trade, enhance industrial competitiveness, and support export-led growth. Discussions included the implementation of the Drawback of Local Taxes and Levies (DLTL), the Technology Upgradation Fund (TUF), and the Export Facilitation Scheme (EFS). Participants exchanged views on improving these initiatives and ensuring timely implementation.



Business community representatives offered insights on enhancing the ease of doing business, improving operational efficiency, and strengthening Pakistan’s export competitiveness. The meeting highlighted the importance of continued public-private dialogue to support sustainable economic growth.



The Minister of State emphasized the government’s commitment to engaging with the business community and pursuing policies that promote investment, industrial development, exports, and economic growth. He noted that the Ministry of Finance, the Federal Board of Revenue, and the Ministry of Commerce will continue collaborating with all stakeholders to facilitate trade and strengthen the export sector.



The meeting was attended by a delegation of business leaders, including Mr. Jawed Bilwani, Syed Ahtisham Mazhar, Mr. Rana Imran, Mr. Jamshed Murtaza, Mr. Zubair Motiwala, Mr. Khurram Mukhtar, and Mr. Aslam Pakhali. Senior government officials, including the Secretary of Commerce, Dr. Hamid Ateeq Sarwar, Mr. Mohsin, and Mr. Ashhad Jawwad, were also present.
