Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday underscored Pakistan’s steadfast support for Palestinians and announced ongoing reforms in the energy sector during a meeting with a Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) delegation.
The meeting, led by JI Ameer Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, saw both parties express grave concern over Israel’s continued aggression against Palestinians in Gaza. The Prime Minister criticized the lack of response from international powers on the issue.
In a statement, Prime Minister Shehbaz reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to supporting Palestinians, emphasizing the nation’s resolve to speak against Israeli actions on global platforms. “Pakistan’s stance is clear-we stand firmly with our oppressed Palestinian brothers and sisters,” he declared.
Acknowledging JI’s appreciation for the recent electricity price reduction, PM Shehbaz detailed his government’s efforts to implement sustainable energy reforms. He assured that future reforms would prioritize public welfare to ease daily life challenges.
“Our team is working day and night to ensure sustainable solutions,” he noted, affirming that public relief remains the government’s top priority.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and JI leaders Liaqat Baloch and Asif Luqman Qazi.
