QUETTA: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated the government’s commitment to eliminating terrorism in the country, emphasizing the mobilization of all available resources to achieve lasting peace and stability.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister made these remarks while chairing the Provincial Apex Committee meeting in Quetta. He stated that recent terrorist attacks in Balochistan, which resulted in the deaths of security personnel and civilians, would not deter the state’s resolve. Sharif paid homage to the martyrs and acknowledged the sacrifices made by the armed forces, law enforcement agencies, and civilians in the fight against terrorism.
Sharif highlighted that security forces have recently neutralized 54 terrorists and that the campaign against terrorism would persist until the complete elimination of militant threats. He asserted that the nation supports the armed forces and law enforcement agencies and expressed optimism about the eventual defeat of terrorism.
The Prime Minister accused hostile elements, particularly Pakistan’s eastern neighbor, of providing support to terrorist groups and highlighted cross-border attacks from Afghan territory. He emphasized the unity between the country’s political and military leadership in tackling terrorism, asserting that no effort would be spared in this endeavor.
Announcing the meeting’s outcomes, Sharif stated that, in consultation with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and the Government of Balochistan, the decision was made to intensify efforts against terrorist groups and utilize every available resource to restore peace across the province and the country. The Prime Minister offered prayers for the martyrs and expressed confidence that their sacrifices would contribute to a peaceful and prosperous Pakistan.
The meeting was attended by prominent figures, including Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, heads of law enforcement agencies, Federal Ministers Ahad Khan Cheema and Attaullah Tarar, and Prime Minister’s Adviser Rana Sanaullah.
