ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Minister for Power Division, Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari, emphasized the untapped potential for cooperation between Pakistan and Russia in trade, energy, education, and connectivity. Leghari’s remarks came during a recent webinar titled “Pakistan-Russia: Strengthening Trade, Education and Energy Collaboration,” organized by the University of World Civilizations in Moscow and the Institute of Regional Studies.

According to Radio Pakistan, Leghari highlighted the importance of economic cooperation and improved transport links, suggesting that these efforts could help bilateral trade exceed the billion-dollar mark in the coming years. He noted that relations between Pakistan and Russia have improved over the past two decades, supported by mutual trust, respect, and a commitment to regional stability.

Leghari also pointed to the revival of historic land routes through Central Asia and the International North-South Transport Corridor as crucial avenues for enhancing trade between the two nations. The Minister’s comments underscore a growing interest in fortifying ties with Russia across several sectors, particularly as both countries seek to capitalize on shared economic interests.
