Peace in Balochistan Deemed Critical to Pakistan’s Stability by PM


QUETTA: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has underscored the importance of peace in Balochistan as fundamental to the stability and prosperity of Pakistan. During a briefing on the security environment in the region, which he attended with Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the Prime Minister reiterated the nation’s commitment to combating terrorism.



According to Radio Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif stressed that the nation’s enemies will not hinder Pakistan’s progress and development. He affirmed the full support of the nation, its armed forces, and the people of Balochistan in the ongoing fight against terrorism. Acknowledging recent incidents, the Prime Minister praised the efforts of law enforcement agencies battling terrorism in Balochistan, particularly those attributed to Indian sponsorship.



The Prime Minister emphasized a zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism to ensure the security of Balochistan’s people. He reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to working in close coordination with the Provincial Government to eliminate terrorism and strengthen the State’s authority. This collaboration aims to secure a future of peace and opportunity for the people of Balochistan.



During the visit, Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the Shuhada who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty and expressed solidarity with their families. The Prime Minister received a comprehensive briefing on the security situation, recent terrorist incidents, and ongoing operations by military and law enforcement agencies.



Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhail and Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti were present, along with several federal ministers and advisers, highlighting the significance of the discussions.
