PM Orders Independent Audit of Customs Bonded Warehouses


Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has instructed an independent three-year third-party audit of customs bonded warehouses nationwide to ensure compliance and prevent irregularities.



According to Radio Pakistan, the directive was issued during a meeting in Islamabad focused on the operations of the Federal Board of Revenue. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of eliminating any irregularities in customs bonded warehouses and called for strict legal action against any officials involved in misconduct or illegal activity.



During the meeting, attendees were briefed on the current state of customs bonded warehouses and the efforts being made to enhance Inland Revenue enforcement. It was highlighted that, following the Prime Minister’s orders, physical stock verification of these warehouses will be conducted throughout the country. Additionally, steps are being implemented to improve the licensing and security of customs bonded warehouses.
