Islamabad, Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, in his keynote address at the ongoing Envoys Conference in Islamabad, emphasized Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the Jammu and Kashmir cause. He reiterated the nation’s stance on resolving the issue in accordance with United Nations Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the conference, which is taking place from January 4-6, 2024, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has brought together Pakistani envoys from key capitals worldwide. The envoys are engaging in comprehensive discussions on various aspects of Pakistan’s foreign policy, particularly in light of current global and regional dynamics. Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani, in his welcome address, highlighted the significance of the conference as a platform for exploring diplomatic challenges and opportunities.
Jilani stressed the importance of the Foreign Office’s central role in shaping and implementing Pakistan’s foreign policy. The Prime Minister, in his address, shared insights on the evolving requirements of Pakistan’s foreign policy, aiming to align it with modern-day demands. He envisioned Pakistan as a progressive, economically rising state focused on the socio-economic welfare of its citizens.
PM Kakar further advocated for a foreign policy that seeks peace and mutually beneficial relations globally. He underscored Pakistan’s dedication to upholding international law, the principles of the United Nations Charter, promoting economic diplomacy, and supporting the Palestinian cause. He described the conference as timely and significant, considering the substantial changes occurring regionally and worldwide.
Expressing confidence in the ability of Pakistan’s diplomats to effectively represent the country amidst challenging circumstances, PM Kakar anticipated that the conference would yield practical solutions to guide Pakistan’s foreign policy through current challenges.
The Prime Minister concluded by extending his best wishes to the Foreign Office and Pakistani diplomats for their efforts in protecting the country’s interests and enhancing its international standing.
