Tehran: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces of Pakistan, alongside Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, concluded a day-long visit to Iran. The visit was part of Pakistan’s diplomatic strategy to mediate in the ongoing US-Iran conflict and explore avenues for sustained regional peace.

According to Inter Services Public Relations, the Pakistani delegation engaged in comprehensive discussions with Iranian officials, including President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, Supreme National Security Council Representative Mohsen Rezaei, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, and Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni. The talks centered around preventing further escalation, reopening the Strait of Hormuz, and expediting the termination of the conflict. Both parties shared perspectives on achieving regional peace through negotiated settlements.

Iran’s leadership recognized Pakistan’s constructive role and efforts in promoting dialogue and de-escalation, aiming for a peaceful resolution to the conflict. Upon arrival, Field Marshal Munir was received by Iranian Minister of Interior Eskandar Momeni and other senior officials, highlighting the significance of the visit in the broader context of regional diplomacy.
