Pakistan to Host US-Iran Peace Agreement Ceremony in Geneva

Islamabad: Pakistan is set to host a landmark peace agreement ceremony between the United States and Iran in Geneva on Friday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced in the National Assembly. The accord marks the immediate and permanent end to military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon, signaling a significant diplomatic achievement.

According to Radio Pakistan, Prime Minister Sharif expressed satisfaction over the agreement, describing it as a victory for peace and diplomacy. He praised both US President Donald Trump and Iranian leaders for their commitment to resolving conflicts, and acknowledged the contributions of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, and China in advancing the peace process.

The Prime Minister highlighted Pakistan’s pivotal role in facilitating the agreement, noting the unprecedented respect and recognition the country has gained from the international community. He emphasized the economic benefits the agreement is expected to bring, particularly in alleviating inflationary pressures on the Pakistani populace.

Prime Minister Sharif also commended Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, for his steadfast dedication to the peace process amid challenges. He reassured that efforts would be made to ensure the peace agreement’s economic dividends reach Pakistani citizens.
