Islamabad, Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch has reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to supporting the Kashmiri struggle for self-determination, condemning the recent ruling of the Indian Supreme Court on the status of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, during her weekly briefing in Islamabad, Spokesperson Baloch emphasized Pakistan’s unwavering political, moral, and diplomatic support for the Kashmiri people. She addressed the Indian Supreme Court’s endorsement of India’s illegal and unilateral actions in 2019, stating that the court has no jurisdiction over Jammu and Kashmir, an internationally recognized disputed territory.
Baloch asserted that the resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir issue must align with the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. This statement comes amid heightened tensions and ongoing disputes over the region’s status and the rights of its inhabitants.
Pakistan’s Foreign Office’s comments reflect the country’s consistent stance on the Kashmir issue and highlight the ongoing diplomatic efforts to address this long-standing dispute.
