Islamabad: On National Minorities Day, the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan conveyed greetings to all Pakistanis, particularly highlighting the contributions of the country’s ethnic and religious minorities. The occasion marks the 79th anniversary of a pivotal address by Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah to the first constituent assembly, where he outlined a vision for Pakistan grounded in equality and religious freedom.

According to Press Information Department, the President underscored the enduring relevance of Jinnah’s vision, which was later enshrined in the 1973 Constitution. The President emphasized that religious minorities have made significant contributions across various fields, including health, education, and national defense, and continue to do so. He reiterated the importance of justice, equality, and mutual respect as foundational principles for a peaceful and stable state.

The President called upon religious leaders, educational institutions, media, civil society, and state institutions to foster a social environment that respects every citizen’s faith and human dignity. He highlighted the importance of upholding constitutional principles that guarantee fundamental rights and religious freedom, stating this is essential for building a just society.

The message concluded with congratulations to the minority communities for their role in nation-building and expressed hope for a future where Pakistan embodies peace, progress, and mutual respect.
