Pakistan and US Renew Partnership to Support 66 PhD Scholars


Islamabad: Pakistan and the United States have renewed the Fulbright-HEC Partnership program, aiming to support 66 PhD scholars over the next five years. This agreement marks a significant step in strengthening educational ties between the two nations, focusing on academic excellence and international cooperation.



According to Radio Pakistan, the agreement was signed between the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan and the United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan. The partnership covers the financial years from 2026-27 through 2031-32 and includes the Fulbright Master’s and PhD programs, the Visiting Scholar Program for post-doctoral scholars, the Foreign Language Teaching Assistant Program, and the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program.



The renewed agreement highlights a shared commitment to fostering human capital development and research. It is expected to enhance Pak-US educational cooperation, strengthen institutional linkages, and broaden opportunities for Pakistani students, scholars, faculty, and professionals.
