Islamabad, The Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced that applications for next year’s Hajj under the government scheme are being accepted by designated banks starting today.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the application process will continue until the 12th of next month. Eligible applicants must have a passport valid until December 16, 2024, and applications can also be processed using a passport application token. About 89,605 Pakistanis will have the opportunity to perform Hajj under the government scheme this year. A balloting will be conducted if the number of applications exceeds the allotted quota. In a significant change, women will now have the opportunity to undertake the Hajj pilgrimage without the traditional requirement of a male companion. Additionally, twenty-five thousand seats will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis under the sponsorship scheme.
