Pakistan Navy Command and Staff Conference Concludes with Focus on Maritime Security


ISLAMABAD: The Command and Staff Conference of the Pakistan Navy concluded at Naval Headquarters, with a focus on combat readiness and emerging maritime threats. Chaired by Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff, the conference was attended by Principal Staff Officers and Field Commanders.



According to Inter Services Public Relations, Admiral Ashraf emphasized the need for perpetual combat readiness in facing both traditional and non-traditional challenges within the maritime domain. He highlighted the emerging threats to freedom of navigation and possible disruptions to crucial Sea Lines of Communication (SLOCs) in light of the ongoing situation in the Middle East. The conference highlighted the necessity of acquiring advanced technologies as a strategic priority for the Pakistan Navy.



The Naval Chief reiterated the Navy’s essential role in maintaining peace, stability, and regional maritime security. He noted the Navy’s commitment to providing assurance to the maritime community through its presence in the Gulf of Oman. Additionally, the conference commemorated the first anniversary of MARKA-E-HAQ, honoring the sacrifices made during the May 2025 conflict, which the Naval Chief described as a testament to national unity and resolve.



The participants conducted a comprehensive review of operational preparedness, ongoing initiatives, and future events. Discussions were centered on aligning naval priorities with evolving regional maritime security imperatives to ensure preparedness across multiple domains of naval warfare. The Command and Staff Conference serves as the Pakistan Navy’s top decision-making forum, where strategic priorities and policies are deliberated.
