Islamabad Police Apprehend 44 Suspects, Seize Drugs and Weapons


ISLAMABAD: In a significant law enforcement operation, the Islamabad Police have arrested 44 individuals involved in various criminal activities, seizing a substantial amount of drugs and weapons in the process. The operation underscores the police’s ongoing efforts to combat crime in the city.



According to Islamabad Capital Police, the recent crackdown led to the arrest of 17 suspects, who were found in possession of 1,615 grams of heroin, 535 grams of ice, 43 bottles of liquor, a Kalashnikov, a gun, and seven pistols, along with ammunition. The authorities have registered cases against the accused and are conducting further investigations to unravel more details about their criminal undertakings.



The police operation also included a targeted campaign to apprehend proclaimed offenders and absconders, resulting in the capture of 27 additional criminals. This initiative follows directives from Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, emphasizing the force’s dedication to maintaining peace and security in the federal capital.



SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza reiterated the police’s commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of residents. He assured that elements disrupting public peace would not be tolerated. The police have also called on citizens to report any suspicious activities through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15,” highlighting the importance of community cooperation in crime eradication efforts.
