ISLAMABAD, Caretaker Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Azam Khan, has passed away in a private hospital in Peshawar on Saturday.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the hospital spokesman reported that the Chief Minister was admitted last night due to a stomach infection and later suffered a heart attack. His Namaz-e-Janaza is scheduled for 3:30 pm today in the Parang area of Charsadda.
President Dr. Arif Alvi has expressed profound grief over Khan’s demise, recalling him as a person of great integrity during their interactions. The President extended his condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the soul of the departed.
Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar also expressed deep sorrow over Khan’s death, acknowledging his lifelong service as a dedicated and competent officer. The Prime Minister highlighted Khan’s exceptional role as a public officer and his significant contributions as the caretaker Chief Minister, particularly in managing administrative affairs, maintaining law and order, and combating smuggling in the province.
Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi expressed his condolences, remembering Khan’s support in professional matters, especially concerning freedom of expression, protection of journalists, and their welfare. He stated that Khan’s services for the country and province are unforgettable.
Khan’s passing is a significant loss for Pakistan, and he will be remembered for his contributions to public service and administration.
