Islamabad: Pakistan has called on the international community to consider the destabilizing effects of arms transfers to India, citing concerns over regional stability and perceived hegemonic intentions. The appeal was made by Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan during a weekly news briefing in Islamabad.
According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Khan also expressed serious concerns about alleged Indian involvement in targeted killings within Pakistan and other countries. He indicated that Pakistan is actively engaging with multiple nations on this issue.
Addressing the ongoing Jammu and Kashmir dispute, Khan reiterated Pakistan’s clear stance, urging the international community to recognize the severe actions against Kashmiri people attributed to India. He called for a peaceful resolution in line with UN Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri populace.
Khan also commented on the situation in Gaza, deeming proposals to relocate its residents as deeply troubling. He underscored that Palestinian land rightfully belongs to its people and advocated for a two-state solution as per UN guidelines.
In response to inquiries about relations with the United States, Khan stated that Pakistan remains in contact with the U.S. across various levels, aiming to strengthen this critical relationship further.
The briefing also covered upcoming diplomatic engagements, including the 5th round of bilateral consultations with Serbia in Islamabad, and similar discussions with Uzbekistan in Tashkent and Qatar in Doha, led by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar.
