Tashkent: Pakistan Customs has pledged to bolster regional customs cooperation with a focus on secure and technology-driven trade facilitation. This commitment was articulated by a delegation from Pakistan Customs during their participation in the 11th Policy-Level Meeting of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC)-World Customs Organization (WCO) Passenger and Cargo Control Programme, held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

According to Radio Pakistan, the delegation was led by Member Customs Syed Shakeel Shah, and the high-level gathering included senior customs officials from across the region. The discussions centered on enhancing regional cooperation to ensure secure and seamless trade through advanced technological solutions.

In a bilateral meeting held on the sidelines of the conference, the Pakistani delegation and Uzbekistan’s First Deputy Chairman of the Customs Committee reaffirmed their mutual commitment to strengthening bilateral customs cooperation. They agreed to focus on enhanced digital connectivity, coordinated border management, sharing of best practices, and the adoption of modern customs technologies.
