Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif announced that Pakistan will benefit from Belarus’s agricultural expertise through joint ventures focused on agriculture machinery currently manufactured in Belarus. The prime minister highlighted the successful nature of his visit to Belarus while addressing journalists.
Sharif noted that Pakistan is endowed with mineral wealth and discussed the potential for cooperation in mining machinery following his visit to a Belarusian factory. An agreement was reached to send 150,000 skilled Pakistani youth to Belarus, selected purely on merit, to further strengthen bilateral ties.
Emphasizing the country’s progress, Sharif stated that under the leadership of Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan is advancing towards prosperity with collective efforts and hard work.
On regional relations, the prime minister reiterated the importance of peaceful coexistence with Afghanistan, urging compliance with the Doha agreement to prevent the use of Afghan territory for terrorist activities. He acknowledged the sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces and law enforcement agencies in combating terrorism.
Sharif also highlighted the Overseas Convention, celebrating the contributions of overseas Pakistanis who remit billions of dollars annually. He pledged to address their demands promptly, recognizing their role in enhancing Pakistan’s global stature.
