Pakistan Elected as Vice-Chair of General Assembly for Cultural Heritage Convention

PARIS: Pakistan has been elected as Vice-Chair of the General Assembly of State Parties to the 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage. This election reflects Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to promote and protect cultural heritage on an international stage.

According to Radio Pakistan, a press release from the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Headquarters in Paris announced the election. The release emphasized Pakistan’s dedication to safeguarding and promoting intangible cultural heritage worldwide.

Pakistan is set to actively engage in multinational efforts to inscribe and preserve cultural expressions that highlight its rich heritage. The country will also collaborate with member states to enhance international cooperation for the protection and transmission of living heritage to future generations.
