ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has issued a strong condemnation following an attack by Houthi forces on a non-combatant commercial vessel in the Red Sea, which resulted in the deaths of three Pakistani nationals and injuries to another.

According to Radio Pakistan, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar expressed his concern over the incident in a post on the social media platform X. The attack has been labeled a violation of international law, threatening maritime security and the safety of commercial navigation in the region.

Pakistan is currently in communication with Saudi Arabian authorities and the internationally recognized Government of Yemen to gather further information about the incident. The Deputy Prime Minister has instructed the Pakistani Embassy in Riyadh to coordinate with relevant entities to ensure the repatriation of the deceased and to provide assistance to the injured.

The country has pledged to closely monitor developments and maintain contact with involved authorities to address the situation.
