Islamabad: Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal, in partnership with the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), has launched a Centralized Kitchen aimed at delivering meals to underprivileged communities. This initiative was formalized through a memorandum of understanding signed at the headquarters of Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal.
According to Press Information Department, the signing ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of Türkiye to Pakistan, H.E. Dr. Irfan Neziroglu, along with Senator Captain Shaheen Khalid Butt, Managing Director of Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal, and Ms. Saliha Tuna, TIKA’s Country Head. Other officials, including TIKA’s Deputy Coordinator Ismail Nazliay and Technical Program Officer Waqas Bashir, were also present.
The Turkish envoy, Dr. Irfan Neziroglu, emphasized the strong relationship between Pakistan and Türkiye, highlighting mutual support during challenging times. He praised TIKA’s long-standing social services and expressed support for Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal’s initiatives, promising ongoing collaboration.
Senator Captain Shaheen Khalid Butt thanked the Turkish representatives, noting that the Centralized Kitchen will produce and distribute up to 15,000 meals daily to those in need. He acknowledged TIKA’s support in Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal’s various welfare activities.
TIKA’s Country Head, Saliha Tuna, reiterated the project’s significance, expressing confidence in its impact on providing meals to those in need.
The establishment of this modern kitchen marks a significant advancement in social protection efforts, offering hope to vulnerable communities in Pakistan. Both organizations expressed a commitment to expanding their cooperation in social welfare initiatives.
