Parachinar: The Pakistan Army successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt by the group Fitna al-Khawarij in the Kurram sector, an operation reportedly backed by the Afghan Taliban. The incident escalated when Afghan Taliban forces opened unprovoked fire on Pakistani border posts, prompting a strong retaliatory response from the Pakistan security forces.

According to Radio Pakistan, the infiltration attempt was launched from Afghan posts located in the Nangarhar and Paktia provinces. Pakistan security forces swiftly responded to the unprovoked attack, silencing the aggressors’ firearms and maintaining control over the border area.

The Afghan Taliban targeted Pakistani positions using heavy weapons, mortars, and other arms. In response, Pakistani forces launched a decisive retaliatory operation, targeting multiple Afghan Taliban border posts and mortar positions with a range of weaponry, including artillery. The strong counteraction forced the Afghan Taliban to abandon several posts and retreat.

The incident underscores the ongoing tensions in the border regions, with Pakistani forces continuing to assert control and respond to cross-border threats with significant force.
