New York: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to fostering international cooperation on artificial intelligence (AI), emphasizing equitable access for global peace and development. Speaking at the United Nations Security Council Briefing on “Artificial Intelligence and International Security” in New York, Dar highlighted the critical need for collaborative efforts to ensure AI does not become a component of the arms race.
According to Radio Pakistan, Dar urged the international community to implement restraint and confidence-building measures to mitigate the risks associated with AI, particularly in terms of miscalculation and accelerated decision-making within the military sector. His statements underscore Pakistan’s proactive stance on addressing the potential challenges posed by emerging technologies on global security platforms.
