New York: Germany’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met with German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul during the 81st Session of the UN General Assembly in New York, where they discussed strengthening their bilateral relationship and lauded Pakistan’s role in promoting peace.

According to Radio Pakistan, both officials congratulated each other on the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between their countries and emphasized the need for continued high-level engagement. They explored expanding cooperation in various sectors, including trade, investment, economic relations, and business linkages. Additionally, they agreed to enhance collaboration in defense, education, and skilled migration, as well as to foster people-to-people contacts.

The discussions also touched upon regional developments, with the German Foreign Minister acknowledging Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and stability. The dialogue included a focus on the situation in Palestine, where the Deputy Prime Minister of Pakistan reiterated the necessity for ongoing international efforts towards a ceasefire and a two-State solution. Both sides committed to maintaining close communication in the future.
