Pakistan and Uzbekistan Forge New Path in Tourism Collaboration

Islamabad: Pakistan and Uzbekistan have agreed to bolster their cooperation in the tourism sector, following a high-level meeting between Haroon Akhtar Khan, Pakistan’s Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production, and Umid Shadiev, Uzbekistan’s Minister for Tourism, held in Islamabad.

The meeting underscored the potential for collaboration between the two nations, focusing on tourism as a key area for development. Haroon Akhtar Khan expressed Pakistan’s readiness to enhance tourism ties with Uzbekistan, with an emphasis on promoting cultural exchanges and preserving shared heritage.

In alignment with the Prime Minister’s directives, Khan announced that Pakistan International Airlines will soon initiate international flights to Uzbekistan. Additionally, private airlines are set to be involved in efforts to strengthen trade and tourism connections between the countries.

Uzbek Minister Umid Shadiev praised the deepening bilateral relations and noted that several Memoranda of Understanding have already been executed, marking significant progress in the partnership between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.
