Lahore: In a sweeping move to address illegal residency, the Punjab government has deported 9,165 foreign nationals from the province, according to a Punjab Police spokesperson. This operation is part of an ongoing campaign aimed at repatriating individuals residing illegally within the region.
The campaign has seen 9,895 individuals taken to holding centers, with 730 currently at these facilities. The authorities have set up 46 holding centers across Punjab, including five in Lahore, to accommodate those awaiting deportation.
This effort underscores the government’s commitment to enforcing immigration laws and addressing illegal residency issues. The campaign continues to gain momentum, reflecting a significant step in the province’s broader security and regulatory measures.
