Pakistan and Global Communities Gear Up for Kashmir Solidarity Day

Islamabad: Preparations for Kashmir Solidarity Day, observed annually on February 5, are in full swing across Pakistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and among the global diaspora. The day is dedicated to expressing support for the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir amid increasing repression by Indian authorities.

According to a statement by Kashmir Media Service, political parties, activists, and the general public in Pakistan and AJK, as well as Pakistani embassies abroad, are organizing events to reaffirm their commitment to the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination. This right has been denied by India for 78 years. The observance will feature special prayers for the martyrs of Kashmir, along with mass rallies, peace walks, and symposiums highlighting the plight of Kashmiris under Indian rule.

February 5 will be observed as a public holiday across Pakistan and AJK. Events are planned to enhance international awareness of India’s ongoing actions in the region.

Posters continue to appear in Srinagar and other areas of the occupied territory, expressing gratitude to Pakistan for its solidarity and urging people to observe the day as Black Day in protest against Indian occupation.

Meanwhile, the Embassy of Pakistan in Brussels is set to host an event commemorating Kashmir Solidarity Day. The gathering will include Pakistani and Kashmiri diaspora members, media representatives, and embassy officials. A documentary highlighting human rights abuses and the Kashmiris’ struggle for freedom, as recognized by United Nations resolutions, will be screened.
