ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized Pakistan’s intention to elevate its economic relationship with Saudi Arabia into a strategic economic partnership during a meeting with a Saudi business delegation in Islamabad. The delegation, led by Prince Mansour bin Mohammad Al Saud, Chairman of the Saudi-Pak Joint Business Council, discussed potential avenues for expanded economic cooperation and investment.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister highlighted the longstanding ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and expressed hope for the signing of agreements across multiple sectors. He conveyed his regards to Saudi leadership, including King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and acknowledged Prince Mansour’s previous visits to Pakistan.

The Saudi delegation expressed interest in investing in various sectors, including agriculture, ports, highways, real estate, energy, and information technology. Prime Minister Sharif welcomed this interest, citing the timing as optimal for joint collaboration in government-to-government and business-to-business engagements.

Prince Mansour expressed gratitude for the hospitality and affirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to enhancing business ties with Pakistan. The delegation is scheduled to meet with senior government officials and private-sector stakeholders during their visit. The meeting was attended by several federal ministers and senior government officials, highlighting the significance of the discussions.
