Ongoing Operations and Raids Affect Lives in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar, The inhabitants of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir are facing significant challenges due to the incessant cordon and search operations and house raids carried out by Indian troops and police personnel.

According to a news release by Kashmir Media Service, widespread search initiatives and house raids are frequently conducted by the troops across multiple districts including Srinagar, Baramulla, Bandipora, Kupwara, Pulwama, Shopian, Islamabad, Kulgam, Rajouri, and Poonch. Residents have reported extreme harassment as personnel forcibly enter residences, intimidating inhabitants and causing damage to personal property.

Leaders of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), among them Molvi Bashir Irfani, Bilal Siddiqi, and several others, praised the Kashmiri diaspora for marking October 27 as “Black Day.” They highlighted the peaceful demonstrations and rallies held in protest against India’s military incursion into Jammu and Kashmir in 1947, emphasizing that the Kashmiri populace has consistently opposed India’s unwarranted occupation.

Further, the APHC spokesperson denounced the repeated shutdowns of the Jamia Masjid Srinagar and the house arrest of senior APHC leader, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, arguing that such actions contradict any claims of normalcy in the region by the occupation authorities.

In a related development, digital trucks showcasing messages highlighting Indian transgressions in occupied Jammu and Kashmir were seen in key areas of Washington DC. Sponsored by the World Kashmir Awareness Forum, the messages underscored issues ranging from land seizures to the treatment of political prisoners.

Meanwhile, in Brussels, the Kashmir Council Europe hosted a demonstration opposing India in front of the Indian Embassy. Numerous Kashmiris and their supporters participated, urging the global community to address the Kashmir dispute by acknowledging and upholding the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.
