Omar Abdullah Speaks Out on Potential House Arrests Ahead of Article 370 Verdict

Karachi, Omar Abdullah, the National Conference vice president, has voiced concerns over the possibility of Kashmiri political leaders being placed under house arrest in anticipation of the Indian Supreme Court’s verdict on Article 370 petitions. Abdullah suggests that authorities are looking for any excuse to justify such actions.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Kulgam district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Abdullah expressed his hope and prayer for a decision that favors the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He highlighted the uncertainty surrounding the upcoming verdict, stating that both the political leaders and the authorities are unaware of what the decision might entail.

Addressing the potential of house arrests, Abdullah commented, “They need an excuse to put us under house arrest and they have an excuse.” He emphasized the need for an investigation if the authorities are already privy to the verdict’s content. Abdullah assured that they are prepared to face the outcome and will respond accordingly, saying, “Let the decision come, we are not running away from here. We will react then.”
