New Divisional Police Office Opens in Islamabad’s Industrial Area

Islamabad, The Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO), Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, has inaugurated the new Divisional Police Officer (DPO) office in the Industrial Area, marking a significant development in the region’s law enforcement infrastructure. This newly constructed facility is located in the I-8 Markaz, a crucial area encompassing major roads and bus terminals.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the opening ceremony of the new DPO office was attended by various dignitaries, including the SSP Operations, local traders, and representatives from the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce. Senior police officers and officials were also present to witness the inauguration.

Dr. Khan, in his address, recalled that the previous DPO Industrial Area office, situated on Kashmir Highway, had been destroyed during protests. Following this incident, the Islamabad Capital Police had set up a temporary office in the I-8 Markaz with limited resources. The new office’s strategic location near the Expressway, Colonel Sher Khan Shaheed Road, Faizabad, and other critical bus terminals is expected to enhance policing efficiency in these key areas.

An important aspect of this new establishment, as highlighted by Dr. Khan, is the integration of surveillance cameras in the I-8 Markaz and surrounding areas with the centralized system of Safe City Islamabad. This technological advancement is aimed at bolstering efforts in crime control and counter-terrorism.

The inauguration was well-received by local dignitaries, the traders union, and the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce, who welcomed the establishment of the new DPO office. They expressed their appreciation for the Islamabad Capital Police’s efforts to maintain peace and enhance security in the Industrial Area.
