Islamabad: Naval Chief Admiral Naveed Ashraf has stressed the importance of maintaining constant combat readiness to address both traditional and emerging challenges in the maritime domain. He made these remarks at the conclusion of the Command and Staff Conference of Pakistan Navy held in Islamabad.
According to Radio Pakistan, Admiral Ashraf noted the emerging threats in the maritime domain amid the ongoing situation in the Middle East. He highlighted concerns such as freedom of navigation, potential disruptions to vital Sea Lines of Communication, and the volatile maritime security situation at strategic choke-points. The Naval Chief emphasized the necessity of acquiring advanced technologies as part of Pakistan Navy’s strategic imperatives.
Admiral Ashraf also reiterated the pivotal role of Pakistan Navy in ensuring peace, stability, and regional maritime security. He emphasized the Navy’s commitment to the maritime community through its presence in key areas. Additionally, the forum commemorated the first anniversary of MARKA-E-HAQ, recognizing the sacrifices made during the May 2025 conflict and celebrating it as a testament to national unity and resolve.
The conference included a comprehensive review of the Navy’s operational preparedness, ongoing initiatives, and future events. Discussions focused on aligning naval priorities with regional maritime security imperatives to ensure readiness across various domains of naval warfare. The Command and Staff Conference serves as the primary decision-making forum for Pakistan Navy, where strategic priorities and policies are deliberated by the Chief of the Naval Staff, Principal Staff Officers, and Field Commanders.
