NADRA Delegation Visits Safe City Islamabad to Explore Advanced Security Technologies

Islamabad, A delegation from the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) visited the Safe City project in Islamabad, a key initiative aimed at enhancing the city’s security and surveillance capabilities. The visit, directed by Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO) Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, was hosted by the SSP Safe City and provided an in-depth look into the advanced technology and operations of the project.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the NADRA delegation toured the command-and-control center, the data hub unit, and the police operations center hall. They received a comprehensive briefing about the various modern technologies deployed, including state-of-the-art cameras and the project’s overall procedures and benefits.

The delegation was informed about the significant role of Safe City Islamabad in supporting various departments through its modern techniques. These include the Police Operations Center, Emergency Control Center, Data Hub Unit, Dispatch Control Center, E-Challan System, and the “Pucar-15” helpline, which are all integral components of the project.

A key highlight of the visit was the demonstration of the functionality and benefits of Safe City cameras in maintaining the city’s safety. These cameras play a crucial role in crime prevention and safeguarding the lives and property of citizens, with 42% of crimes in the city being resolved through the Safe City Command and Control Center.

The delegation was particularly impressed by the face recognition cameras installed at the city’s entry and exit points, which are instrumental in identifying suspicious elements. This advanced technology has been pivotal in enhancing the security framework of Islamabad.

The visit concluded with the NADRA delegation acknowledging the modern technical system of the Islamabad Capital Police and its benefits. They expressed special gratitude to the CPO of Safe City and Traffic, along with his team, for a successful and informative visit.

This collaboration underscores the commitment of various governmental bodies in Pakistan to leverage technology for public safety and crime prevention.
