NAB Distributes Rs. 97 Million Among Jeddah Town Scandal Victims


Islamabad: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) conducted a ceremony at its headquarters in Islamabad to distribute Rs. 97 million among 132 victims of the Jeddah Town scandal. The event was attended by several high-ranking NAB officials, including Deputy Chairman Sohail Nasir, who emphasized the bureau’s commitment to recovering assets lost to fraudulent schemes.



According to a statement by Press Information Department, the ceremony highlighted NAB’s ongoing efforts to return looted funds to the public. Deputy Chairman Nasir reiterated the bureau’s dedication to this “national duty,” acknowledging the significant recoveries made over the past two years. He praised the efforts of Director General NAB Rawalpindi, Mirza Irfan Beg, and his team for their role in successfully reclaiming the victims’ assets.



During the event, Nasir also stressed the importance of public caution when investing in housing projects, noting that numerous arrests have been made recently to curb fraudulent activities. He mentioned that new legislation is underway to ensure perpetrators face justice.



Director General NAB Rawalpindi, Muhammad Irfan Beg, addressed the challenges faced in recovering funds for the Jeddah Town victims. Despite these obstacles, he assured that all legal procedures were followed to ensure the return of the looted assets. He also mentioned ongoing efforts to support victims of other fraudulent schemes in Rawalpindi.



Victims of the Jeddah Town scandal expressed gratitude to NAB for its efforts in recovering their lost capital, acknowledging that the bureau exceeded their expectations in handling the case.
