MoFEPT and NAVTTC Collaborate to Enhance Vocational Training for Persons with Disabilities

Islamabad: The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (MoFEPT), alongside the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC), has announced a series of initiatives aimed at improving vocational training for persons with disabilities. The efforts focus on upgrading the National Training Centre for Special Persons into a modern, market-oriented institution.

According to Radio Pakistan, the collaboration was discussed in a high-level meeting led by the Federal Secretary of the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training. The meeting emphasized the need for institutional collaboration to transform the training center into an inclusive facility capable of equipping individuals with disabilities with relevant skills for the job market.

Key points from the meeting included the decision to expedite the registration and affiliation process for the National Training Centre for Special Persons, facilitated by NAVTTC, without imposing any financial burden. The participants also agreed to enhance the professional capacity of trainers through specialized programs and courses.

The collaboration will see NAVTTC working closely with the center to update and adapt the curriculum, ensuring that it meets the demands of the market and caters to the varying needs of individuals with disabilities. Plans to modernize the training center’s laboratories with technical assistance from NAVTTC were also discussed.

Additionally, NAVTTC committed to supporting career counseling services and improving job placement opportunities for trainees through industry partnerships and employment facilitation mechanisms.
