Islamabad, Murtaza Solangi, the Minister for Information and Broadcasting, has called upon the United Nations to honor its commitments to the Kashmiri people and support their quest for self-determination.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, in his message marking the Right to Self Determination Day, Solangi emphasized the urgency for a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN Security Council resolutions. He expressed concern over the continued wait of the people of Jammu and Kashmir for the fulfillment of these promises.
Solangi criticized India’s actions in illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, especially the recent verdict of the Indian Supreme Court regarding the region’s status. He accused India of attempting to alter the demographic makeup of the territory based on religion, as part of its efforts to strengthen its hold over the disputed area.
The Information Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to supporting the Kashmiri people politically, diplomatically, and morally until they achieve their deserved rights and the success of their struggle for freedom. This statement underscores Pakistan’s ongoing commitment to the Kashmir issue and its call for international intervention.
