Majority of Pakistanis Anticipate Educational Improvement for Next Generation

Islamabad: A recent survey conducted by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan reveals that a significant majority of Pakistanis are optimistic about the educational prospects of the next generation. The survey indicates that 59% of the respondents believe children born today will achieve higher educational levels than their own generation, while only 24% foresee a decline in educational attainment.

According to Gilani Research Foundation, the survey involved a nationally representative sample of 761 Pakistani adults from various regions, encompassing both urban and rural areas across the country’s four provinces. The survey, conducted between March 26 and April 1, 2026, used telephonic interviews and has a margin of error of approximately ±2-3 percent at a 95% confidence level.

The data suggests that younger adults and those with higher education levels are more optimistic, with 66% and 61% respectively, expressing confidence in improved educational outcomes for future generations. Meanwhile, 11% of respondents believe the educational status will remain the same, and a small percentage remains uncertain or did not answer. The findings underscore a prevailing belief among Pakistanis in the potential for educational progress, despite existing challenges in the education sector.
