Deputy Prime Minister of Pakistan Travels to China for AI Cooperation Agreement


SHANGHAI: Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar has embarked on a two-day visit to Shanghai, China, where he is set to sign an agreement marking Pakistan’s entry as a Founding Member of the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization (WAICO). The visit underscores Pakistan’s commitment to advancing international collaboration in the field of artificial intelligence.



According to Radio Pakistan, the Deputy Prime Minister’s agenda includes signing the WAICO agreement and participating in the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference. During his visit, Dar will engage with global leaders to foster cooperation in AI and advocate for inclusive and equitable governance in the sector. This move signifies Pakistan’s strategic initiative to be at the forefront of AI development and governance on the international stage.
