Islamabad, September 25, 2023 (PPI-OT): The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter has said that the Kashmir dispute is not a power struggle, but the issue of freedom of Kashmiris from illegal Indian occupation.
APHC-AJK General Secretary Sheikh Abdul Mateen in a statement issued in Islamabad said Kashmiri people are rendering huge sacrifices for their birthright to self-determination and they would continue their struggle until the goal is achieved.
He said the APHC represents the freedom-loving people of Kashmir and is determined to take the freedom movement to its logical conclusion despite Indian coercion. He strongly condemned the illegal arrests, desecration of women and vandalism of houses and other properties by the Indian soldiers.
He said that the fascist Indian government imposed the worst military siege in the occupied territory on August 5, 2019 to fulfill its nefarious ambitions to change the Muslim majority character into a minority.
Sheikh Abdul Mateen paid tribute to the martyrs of Kashmir and saluted the determination and courage of the Hurriyat leaders, workers and youth illegally detained in jails of India and the territory and demanded immediate release of all illegally detained Kashmiris, including APHC Chairman Masarat Alam Butt, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Aasiya Andrabi, Dr Abdul Hameed Fayaz, Naeem Ahmad Khan, Naheeda Nasreen, Fahmida Sufi, Ayaz Muhammad Akbar, Pir Saifullah, Raja Merajuddin Kalwal, Shahid-ul-Islam, Farooq Ahmad Dar, Syed Shahid Yousaf, Syed Shakeel Yousaf, Muhammad Yousuf Falahi, Muhammad Rafiq Ganai, Bilal Siddiqui, Maulvi Bashir Ahmed, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Ameer Hamza, Zafar Akbar Butt, Sharif Sartaj, Umar Adil Dar, Muzammil Fayyaz Sufi, Basharat Pampuri, Moeez Riaz Khan, Mudassar Paswal, Muhammad Ansar Khan, Sahil Manzoor, Hayat Ahmad Butt, Dr Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo, Ghulam Qadir Butt, Muhammad Shafi Shariati, Malik Noor Fayyaz and journalists Asif Sultan, Fahad Shah and human rights activist Khurram Parvez.
