Islamabad, August 18, 2023 (PPI-OT): Caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan, Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, has said that Kashmir is the core issue which cannot be ignored. Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar was speaking during the first meeting of the caretaker government in Islamabad, today. He expressed his government’s commitment to the Kashmir dispute which he described as part of the Pakistani nation’s soul. “It lies in our soul, for us Kashmir is eternal,” he added. It is to mention here that the caretaker Prime Minister has included Mushaal Hussein Mallick, the wife of illegally detained Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik, in his cabinet.
Mushaal Mullick will work as a Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Human Rights and Women Empowerment. Mashaal Mallick has campaigned against the India’s illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir for years. She married Yasin Malik in Rawalpindi on 22nd February 2009. Mushaal is a graduate of the London School of Economics. She lives with her daughter Raziyah Sultana, 12, in Islamabad.
Yasin Malik was arrested by the Indian police in Srinagar in February 2019 in false case registered against him. A special court of India’s dreaded National Investigation Agency sentenced him to life imprisonment in May, last year. He is presently lodged in New Delhi’s infamous Tihar Jail.
