Mirpur, The US-based Kashmir Global Council (KGC) has strongly denied the allegations made by India against its President, Farooq Siddiqi, and Board Director Raja Muzaffar Khan. The organization asserts that the accusations are baseless and part of an effort to hinder its advocacy for a peaceful resolution in Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the KGC emphasized that the charges against Farooq Siddiqi lack credible evidence and appear to be a deliberate attempt to disrupt the Council’s work towards a peaceful political process in Kashmir. The statement originated from Toronto and New York.
The KGC has categorically rejected the unfounded accusations from India, reiterating its commitment to advocating for the rights and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The Council called for the dismissal of these allegations, emphasizing the need for justice and the recognition of the ulterior motives behind these charges.
Additionally, Raja Muzaffar, a Board Director of the KGC, refuted the allegations of his involvement in reviving the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) or participating in related activities. He also expressed concern over the targeted actions against Farooq Siddiqi’s family, underlining the importance of fairness and the protection of innocent individuals impacted by these false claims.
The Council dismissed the arrests made in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) in July last year, which purportedly established a case against the accused, as entirely groundless. The KGC is urging Indian authorities for a thorough and unbiased investigation to ensure justice and the revelation of the truth.
The Kashmir Global Council remains committed to promoting dialogue, peace, and the legitimate aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir through a peaceful settlement of the conflict. The Council has appealed to regional and international stakeholders to support its efforts in finding a just and lasting resolution to the Kashmir issue.
