Kargil, Demonstrating solidarity with Palestine, residents from multiple Kargil villages gathered en masse to protest against the recent Israeli actions in Gaza.
According to a news release by Kashmir Media Service, the collective demonstration, which saw participation from the inhabitants of villages including Khangral, Samrah, Chiktan, Shakar, Sankdoo, Lamsoo, and Sanjaq, commenced at the Jamia Masjid Chiktan. The procession then made its way to the office of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) in Chiktan. Here, religious scholars took the opportunity to address the gathering, speaking fervently about the struggles faced by the people in Gaza and Palestine and emphasizing the importance of unity in seeking a peaceful end to the conflict.
During the protest, participants could be heard chanting slogans directed against Israel and the US. Many were seen holding placards, expressing their fervent hope for justice, peace, and the cessation of the Israeli military actions in Gaza.
