Islamabad: In a significant diplomatic exchange, Japan’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Motegi Toshimitsu, engaged in a 30-minute telephone call with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Mohammad Ishaq Dar, to discuss pressing issues in the Middle East.
According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Motegi expressed deep concerns regarding the escalating tensions in the Middle East and acknowledged Pakistan’s mediation efforts with involved nations. He emphasized the need for a swift de-escalation and shared Japan’s initiatives towards achieving stability in the region. The conversation also highlighted the importance of ensuring safe navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, an area of strategic maritime interest. Deputy Prime Minister Dar outlined Pakistan’s ongoing efforts in response to the situation and expressed Pakistan’s willingness to collaborate with Japan on these matters. The two ministers agreed to maintain close communication moving forward.
