Islamabad: Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan met with Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, H.E. Atadjan Movlamov, to explore avenues for enhancing bilateral trade, energy cooperation, and regional connectivity between the two countries.
According to Press Information Department, the discussions highlighted the significance of regional trade corridors and logistics improvements to facilitate trade between Pakistan and Central Asian states. Both parties expressed their commitment to expanding trade routes and fostering direct interactions between their respective business communities.
Minister Khan pointed out Pakistan’s strategic position as a gateway to Central Asia, emphasizing the country’s role in connecting regional and global markets through its seaports. He noted that regional dynamics and global supply chain shifts have amplified Pakistan’s potential in connectivity and logistics.
Both leaders agreed on the benefits of stronger economic integration, efficient transportation linkages, and increased business engagement. Minister Khan advocated for business forums and institutional interactions between chambers of commerce to encourage private sector collaboration.
Ambassador Movlamov acknowledged Pakistan’s proactive stance on regional trade facilitation, expressing Turkmenistan’s interest in strengthening economic and transport ties. The meeting also covered energy sector cooperation, focusing on regional connectivity and infrastructure collaboration to support long-term economic stability.
