Lahore, 03 Dec 2023: Italian Ambassador Andreas Ferraris met with Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi to discuss opportunities for increased cooperation between Italy and Punjab in culture, tourism, and mutual trade. The meeting focused on enhancing the partnership and facilitating investment opportunities in Punjab.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, the discussions included plans for mutual exchange of trade and cultural delegations, which are expected to bring a new dimension to the bilateral relations. The Chief Minister highlighted the introduction of a One Window Operation for investors in Punjab, aimed at simplifying the process by providing all necessary clearances (NOCs) under one roof.

Chief Minister Naqvi pointed out the vast investment opportunities available in Punjab for Italian investors. He also expressed gratitude to the Italian Ambassador for Italy’s support in securing the GSP Plus status, which is crucial for Pakistan’s trade prospects.

Ambassador Ferraris affirmed his commitment to promoting ongoing cooperation with the Punjab government across various sectors. This meeting underscores the growing ties between Italy and Punjab, focusing on cultural exchange, tourism promotion, and enhancing bilateral trade relations.
