Islamabad Traffic Police Hosts Seminar on Road Safety at Bahria University

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) organized a one-day seminar at Bahria University to enhance awareness about road safety and traffic regulations. The event attracted a significant number of students and faculty members.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad Muhammad Sarfraz Virk served as the chief guest. Director Administration Bahria University Commodore (R) Shaukat Ali, Professor Dr. Adam Saud, and Focal Person Dr. Samra Ashfaq were also in attendance.

The CTO emphasized the critical role of road safety and underscored that following traffic laws is a civic duty. He highlighted the importance of educating the younger generation about traffic rules to help reduce accidents.

Officers from the ITP Education Wing provided a detailed briefing on safe driving practices, including the use of zebra crossings, helmets, seat belts, and the risks associated with mobile phone usage while driving.

Additionally, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between Islamabad Traffic Police and Bahria University under the “Friends of Police” program to foster mutual cooperation.

The seminar concluded with students pledging to adhere to traffic rules and actively promote awareness among their peers. Islamabad Traffic Police will continue to organize similar initiatives to advance road safety awareness.
