Islamabad Police Successfully Resolve Infant Kidnapping Case with Swift Action


ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police have swiftly resolved a high-profile infant kidnapping case, safely recovering a 2-month-old girl, Fajar Noor, within hours of the incident. The case took place in the jurisdiction of Bhara Kahu police station in Pakistan’s federal capital.



According to Islamabad Capital Police, the incident involved the abduction of the infant by a woman identified as Aqsa Jameel, who had been residing in the neighborhood under the alias Maryam. The suspect had gained the trust of the child’s mother before fleeing with the baby. The swift response by the police, led by DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq, resulted in the constitution of special police teams under the supervision of SP Saddar Muhammad Khurram Ashraf and SDPO Shams Akbar.



The police teams utilized modern technology, including Safe City cameras, along with human resources to track down the suspects. Acting on evidence, they conducted an operation in Murree, successfully recovering the infant and arresting the main accused, Aqsa Jameel, along with a taxi driver named Zaheer.



DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq emphasized that legal proceedings would ensure exemplary punishment for those involved. He noted the police’s track record of resolving major cases swiftly, highlighting their professionalism and efficiency. The infant’s parents expressed gratitude for the police’s timely response, while the protection of citizens remains a priority for the Islamabad Police.
