ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police, under the directives of Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, have ramped up search and combing operations across various sectors of the federal capital. This move aims to reduce crime and crack down on criminal networks, officials said.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the operations were conducted under the supervision of SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza and monitored by zonal SPs. The extensive efforts resulted in the checking of 755 individuals, 190 households, 11 hotels, 27 shops, 276 motorcycles, and 116 vehicles.
As part of the initiative, 35 individuals and 25 motorcycles deemed suspicious were taken to police stations for further verification. Additionally, arrests were made for illegal weapon possession, with two rifles and accompanying ammunition confiscated.
SSP Operations Islamabad emphasized that these operations are part of a broader strategy to tighten control over criminal activities and bolster security citywide. He further noted that this approach includes action against criminal elements, land grabbers, and drug dealers, and that similar operations are ongoing in various district areas.
